Code of Ethics
At Mellow Massage, we prioritize your well-being, safety, and comfort. Our commitment to professionalism and ethical conduct guides our practices. We strive to provide you with a safe, therapeutic, and enjoyable experience. We understand that in our industry there have been instances of inappropriate behavior. To that end, we hold numerous steps and checks to ensure we safeguard our clientele as much as possible. 1. Professional Training and Background Checks
– All Mellow Massage service providers are background checked, reference checked and must hold a valid State license. They are also required to complete additional training via our inhouse Academy www.themellowacademy.com, which includes coursework on draping, as well as our code of ethics; this is required regardless of their experience in the industry.
– Secret Shopping. Mellow conducts periodical secret shoppers in all of our studios.
2 Respect for Boundaries
– Your comfort and boundaries are our utmost concern.
– If at any time during your session you feel uncomfortable, you have the right to express your concerns to your therapist, the spa manager, or front desk staff. Mellow is designed to be a safe space for you, and we will stand by your comfort at all times.
3 Punctuality
– We understand that life can be unpredictable, but we encourage punctuality.
– If you are late for your service, we will do our best to accommodate you, but your service time may need to be adjusted if no suitable alternatives are available.
4 Ethical Behavior
– Our service providers are committed to maintaining a professional relationship with you.
– Any requests for personal meetings outside of work or behavior that feels overly personal in conversation should be reported to the spa manager.
– Our therapists are trained not to touch the breast, abdomen, buttock or inner thigh area regardless of your request or consent.
– You are also responsible for ethical behavior, please do not ask your therapist to touch any sensitive areas.
5 Respect for Privacy
– We acknowledge the confidential nature of the professional relationship with our clients.
– Your personal information and health history will be kept confidential within the constraints of the law.
6 Draping Procedures
– You will be properly draped at all times during your session.
– We will ensure that your private areas are never exposed. Should a therapist at any time remove the sheet or expose any sensitive areas, please terminate the session and call 619.821.8210 or speak to the location manager.
7 Client’s Right to Control the Experience
– You have the right to control your session and communicate your preferences.
– You can specify your desired level of pressure, room temperature, lighting, and music volume.
– If you wish to have a companion present during your session, please inform us in advance, subject to local requirements.
8 Safety Measures
– If you ever feel unsafe or uncomfortable during your session, please terminate the session or communicate your concerns with your therapist.
9 Zero Tolerance for Inappropriate Conduct
– Mellow Massage has a zero-tolerance policy for any inappropriate, abusive, or dangerous conduct.
– If any such conduct occurs, we pledge to work transparently with you to explore all options, including contacting the appropriate authorities, with your permission.
10 Non-Discrimination
– We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
– We welcome clients from all backgrounds with equal respect and dignity.

– Our service providers adhere to the highest ethical standards and must follow this Code of Ethics.
– We commit to providing you with the highest quality massage therapy and skincare services while respecting your individuality and privacy.
12 Commitment to Ethical Standards
– We take all complaints seriously and pledge to provide our full cooperation in achieving a fair and reasonable resolution.
– Any allegations of inappropriate conduct will result in the immediate suspension of the employee pending investigation.

Appropriate Communication: We refrain from engaging in personal or sexual conversations with clients, including offering compliments or criticism about their body, lifestyle, or past and present relationships.
Proper Draping Procedures: We ensure that all clients are properly draped at all times during their sessions. We are committed to avoiding the exposure of private areas.Physical Boundaries: We strictly avoid any contact in which our breasts or genitals may brush up against, lean into, or touch any part of the client’s body at any time.
No Sexual Conduct: We maintain the utmost professionalism by refraining from engaging in any form of sexual conduct or sexual activities involving our clients. Specifically, we do not perform massages or engage in any touching of a client’s private areas, including the breasts, genitalia, anterior or posterior inner thighs near genitalia, and anal areas.
